South East Idaho Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how South East Idaho App LLC, d/b/a South East Idaho (“South East Idaho,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the South East Idaho mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

It also describes choices and rights you may have concerning your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use South East Idaho and which features and device permissions you enable.

A. Account Information

We may collect information you provide directly, including:

• name;
• username or display name;
• email address;
• profile photograph;
• account credentials or authentication information;
• city, ZIP code, or local community;
• profile information;
• preferences;
• communications with us;
• reports or moderation requests;
• survey responses;
• Promotion entries;
• information required to verify Promotion eligibility;
• information necessary to deliver a prize; and
• other information you voluntarily submit.

B. User Content

We process content you create or submit through the Service, including:

• posts;
• comments;
• photographs;
• videos;
• reactions;
• reviews;
• group activity;
• event submissions;
• messages, if messaging features are offered; and
• other content you choose to submit.

Certain User Content is intended to be publicly visible.

Do not publicly post information that you wish to remain private.

C. Location Information

Because South East Idaho provides geographically relevant content and services, we may process location information such as:

• a city, community, or ZIP code you provide;
• approximate location inferred from an IP address;
• approximate device location; and
• precise device location if you expressly grant the relevant device permission for a feature requiring precise location.

Location information may be used to:

• provide locally relevant posts and information;
• show nearby events or businesses;
• personalize recommendations;
• support location-based functionality;
• determine whether content applies to your geographic area;
• assist in verifying Promotion eligibility; and
• prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not require precise location when a feature can reasonably function with less precise information.

You may disable or modify location access through your device settings.

D. Device and Technical Information

We may automatically receive technical information including:

• device type;
• operating system and version;
• application version;
• app or device identifiers;
• IP address;
• language;
• time zone;
• network information;
• timestamps;
• diagnostic information;
• crash information; and
• technical logs.

E. Usage Information

We may collect information about your use of South East Idaho, including:

• screens viewed;
• posts viewed;
• searches;
• clicks;
• comments;
• reactions;
• shares;
• groups joined or interacted with;
• session activity;
• features used;
• notifications opened;
• advertisements or sponsored content viewed or interacted with; and
• Promotion entries or qualifying activity.

We use this information to operate, personalize, analyze, secure, and improve South East Idaho.

F. Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another payment platform, that platform generally handles your payment-card information directly.

We may receive transaction information such as:

• subscription status;
• product purchased;
• transaction identifier;
• purchase date;
• renewal or expiration status; and
• refund or cancellation status.

We generally do not receive your full credit-card or debit-card number from an app-store provider.

G. Promotion and Prize Information

When you participate in a sweepstakes, giveaway, drawing, contest, or other Promotion, we may collect information necessary to:

• record entries;
• enforce entry limits;
• prevent fraud;
• select potential winners;
• contact winners;
• verify age;
• verify identity;
• verify geographic eligibility;
• fulfill prizes; and
• satisfy tax or other legal requirements.

Additional information may be requested from a potential winner if legally required.

We will not require a Social Security number merely to enter a Promotion.

H. AI Feature Information

When you use AI-powered functionality, we may process information necessary to provide that feature, including:

• prompts or requests;
• relevant User Content;
• context provided to the AI feature;
• AI-generated responses;
• feedback; and
• associated usage information.

Some of this information may be transmitted to OpenAI to generate or process AI-enabled functionality on our behalf.

Do not provide highly sensitive personal information to an AI feature unless that information is specifically required for the feature and we clearly explain why.

2. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

• provide and operate South East Idaho;
• create and authenticate accounts;
• maintain account security;
• personalize locally relevant information;
• recommend content;
• display local businesses and events;
• operate groups and community functionality;
• provide search;
• provide location-based functionality;
• provide AI-enabled features;
• administer Promotions and giveaways;
• select and verify winners;
• fulfill prizes;
• manage subscriptions;
• display advertising or sponsored content;
• measure advertising performance;
• send notifications;
• respond to support requests;
• moderate content;
• investigate reports;
• enforce our Terms of Use;
• investigate suspected fraud or abuse;
• prevent fake accounts or fraudulent entries;
• maintain security;
• diagnose bugs;
• analyze Service performance;
• develop new functionality;
• satisfy legal requirements; and
• create aggregated or de-identified information.

We may use information for an additional purpose when we disclose that purpose and obtain consent where required.

3. Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate portions of South East Idaho.

Google / Firebase

We use Google LLC and Firebase to provide backend infrastructure and related application services.

Depending on the Firebase services used by South East Idaho, Firebase may process information including account information, identifiers, application data, technical information, usage data, logs, and other information necessary to provide the applicable service.

Google processes this information subject to the applicable Google and Firebase terms and data-processing requirements.

OpenAI

We use OpenAI to provide artificial-intelligence functionality within South East Idaho.

When an AI feature requires OpenAI processing, information necessary to fulfill the request may be transmitted to OpenAI, which may include a user’s prompt, relevant content, contextual information, and generated output.

We use OpenAI’s business/API services for application functionality.

We do not intentionally transmit information to OpenAI that is unnecessary for the applicable AI feature.

Platform Providers

When you download, subscribe to, or use South East Idaho through platforms such as Apple’s App Store or Google Play, those platforms may independently process information under their own privacy policies and agreements with you.

4. How We Disclose Information

A. Information You Make Public

Information you intentionally publish publicly through South East Idaho may be viewed by other users and, depending on the feature, potentially people outside the Service.

This can include:

• username;
• profile photograph;
• public profile information;
• posts;
• comments;
• reviews;
• reactions;
• event information; and
• other publicly submitted content.

B. Service Providers

We disclose information to providers such as Google/Firebase and OpenAI only as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure, analyze, and improve the applicable functionality.

C. Local Businesses and Promotion Partners

If you intentionally interact with a local business, redeem an offer, participate in a jointly sponsored Promotion, or otherwise request an interaction involving a third party, we may provide information reasonably necessary to facilitate that interaction.

Material data-sharing arrangements for a Promotion will be disclosed where required.

D. Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• comply with applicable law;
• respond to a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or legal process;
• protect our legal rights;
• enforce our Terms;
• investigate fraud or abuse;
• protect the Service;
• prevent physical harm;
• investigate unlawful activity;
• protect another user; or
• respond to a legitimate safety concern.

E. Business Transactions

If South East Idaho App LLC participates in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale, or transfer of some or all of its business or assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

F. At Your Direction

We may disclose information when you request or consent to the disclosure.

5. Advertising

South East Idaho may display advertisements, sponsorships, offers, promoted businesses, or other commercial content.

We may use information about activity within South East Idaho to determine which local content or advertising may be relevant to you and to measure advertisement performance.

South East Idaho does not currently sell personal information to data brokers.

South East Idaho does not currently provide users’ precise location, private messages, or contact information to advertisers for their independent advertising purposes.

We do not currently use third-party advertising networks to track users across unrelated applications or websites for behavioral advertising.

If our advertising practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide privacy controls or consent mechanisms where required.

6. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.

Some state privacy laws define terms such as “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” more broadly than ordinary usage.

If our future practices become subject to opt-out requirements under such laws, we will provide the required mechanism before engaging in those activities.

7. Precise Location Information

Precise geolocation may be considered sensitive personal information.

When South East Idaho receives precise location information, we use it only for functionality reasonably related to the purpose for which you granted permission, including applicable local-content, eligibility, or location-based features.

We do not provide precise geolocation to local advertisers for their independent advertising purposes.

You can revoke location permission through your device settings.

8. Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Technologies

Our applications and websites may use technologies such as:

• application SDKs;
• cookies;
• local storage;
• authentication tokens; and
• similar technologies.

They may be used to:

• keep users authenticated;
• maintain preferences;
• provide Service functionality;
• measure usage;
• prevent abuse;
• identify technical issues; and
• maintain security.

Our mobile application may include Firebase SDKs necessary to provide Firebase-related functionality.

9. Mobile Permissions

South East Idaho may request operating-system permissions when necessary for a feature.

Examples may include:

• location;
• notifications;
• photos or camera access; and
• other device functionality.

The operating system controls these permissions.

Declining an optional permission will generally prevent only the functionality requiring that permission.

You can change permissions through your device settings.

10. Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on the state where you live and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

• know whether we process your personal information;
• request access to personal information;
• correct inaccurate information;
• request deletion;
• receive a portable copy of certain information;
• withdraw consent where processing depends on consent;
• opt out of legally defined targeted advertising;
• opt out of legally defined sales or sharing;
• limit certain processing of sensitive information;
• appeal certain privacy decisions; and
• exercise privacy rights without unlawful discrimination.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect your account before acting on a request.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

11. Account Deletion

Users may initiate deletion of their South East Idaho account through the account settings provided within the application.

Users may also request assistance by emailing support@southeastidaho.app.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or de-identify associated personal information from active systems unless retention remains reasonably necessary for:

• legal compliance;
• tax or accounting obligations;
• security;
• fraud prevention;
• Promotion integrity;
• dispute resolution;
• enforcement of agreements; or
• protection of users and the Service.

Information may temporarily remain in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten in accordance with normal retention practices.

Content that other people independently copied, quoted, or shared may remain outside our control.

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Retention periods may depend on:

• whether an account remains active;
• the type of information;
• the feature involved;
• legal obligations;
• security requirements;
• fraud-prevention requirements;
• Promotion records;
• tax and financial requirements;
• disputes;
• applicable limitation periods; and
• backup schedules.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we will delete, de-identify, or aggregate it where practicable.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

These may include:

• encrypted network communications;
• authentication controls;
• access restrictions;
• infrastructure security;
• monitoring and logging;
• software-security practices; and
• restricted access to production systems.

No Internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

If we discover a breach requiring user or regulatory notification, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.

14. Children

South East Idaho is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

People under 13 may not create an account or use the Service.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally valid authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 provided us personal information may contact support@southeastidaho.app.

Certain Promotions and features may be restricted to users 18 or older.

15. Safety Reports and Moderation Records

Information submitted through safety reports, abuse reports, copyright complaints, moderation appeals, or reports of nonconsensual intimate imagery may be retained as reasonably necessary to:

• investigate the report;
• remove prohibited content;
• prevent repeated violations;
• enforce account restrictions;
• preserve necessary evidence;
• comply with law; and
• protect affected people.

Access to sensitive reports will be restricted to those with a reasonable need to process them.

16. Third-Party Links and Businesses

South East Idaho may link to local businesses, event organizers, websites, maps, ticketing providers, or other external services.

We do not control those parties.

When you leave South East Idaho or directly interact with another service, that party’s privacy practices may apply.

17. United States Operations

South East Idaho App LLC operates in the United States, and the Service is primarily intended for users in the United States.

Information may be processed in the United States or in locations where our service providers maintain infrastructure, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as South East Idaho evolves.

If a change materially affects how we process personal information, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, email, or another appropriate method.

The “Last Updated” date identifies the latest revision.
